The First Very True iPad Mini -Use of Gadgets

iPad Mini Retina Display

Apple iPad Mini (White-Silver, 16GB, WiFi)-Use of Gadgets

When Apple launched its iPad Mini last year, received no treatment Retina - a strange move considering that many of their products at the moment is the high definition displays . A little over a year later, this new model of the small tablet gets update to help appease the eyes - pixel hungry.

Design

Basically , Apple created a miniaturized Air iPad in both design and hardware. The aluminum unibody is a bit heavier than some of its competitors , in more than 12 ounces, and is even a bit heavier than the first Mini , but probably would not notice . Around the edges are the usual trappings technology volume rocker , lock silent / screen rotation, 3.5- mm stereo headphone minijack connector and lightning bezel has thinned as in the previous generation. The curved beveled edges give you a feeling of comfort , but the width of 5.3 inches is overkill hold in one hand .

Hardware

The big news here is the update of the retina. With 2048 x 1536 resolution, Apple packed the same number of pixels on the screen of 7.9 inch Mini iPad as a full sized , 324 ppi and only leads the Nexus One from Google 7. This screen is fascinating. I tested the screen with the visual spectacle of Pacific Rim Guillermo Del Toro and completely lost track of time watching Kaiju wreak havoc on humanity in pristine CGI .

The Mini comes equipped with a dual-core 1.3GHz chip Apple A7 with 64-bit architecture . It's a tough little device that can cope with the task of transmitting video and playing graphics-intensive games . Still, while it flipping back and forth between applications quickly , took a moment for some of them to load completely . And for some reason , after I opened Notes crashed several times and refused to reopen .

The 5 megapixel camera is roughly on par with other mini tablets like Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but the Retina display makes the most of your photos . The modes are shown, square photo and video. Again, nothing fancy, but enough to take some decent photos.

As before, the Mini does not offer expandable storage , but Apple is offering a 128GB model for anyone willing to part with an extra $ 100 for a step up from the 64 GB. The battery life is comparable to other tablets in its class and can support up to 9 or 10 hours of solid web surfing , watching videos and listening to music .

Software and Interface

Running on iOS 7, the second iPad Mini has some new tricks to help make navigation easier . A five-finger pinch gesture while using an application that brings you back to the home screen and four -finger swipe from side to side will transition between open applications . Swiping four fingers changed to multitask view , allowing you to scroll through all open applications . Chances are you'll have plenty : The iOS App Store is loaded with 475,000 applications optimized tablet.

Apple is not trying to complicate anything with the new Mini, and the interface remains simple and easy to use. The keyboard has a great response time and stay with you every step of the way . But if you feel like taking a shortcut , this tablet comes with Siri.

Outcome

The iPad Mini with Retina Display is not innovative , but its a significant improvement from the first attempt with the Mini Apple . The visual quality is top of the range , and tablet packages much of the technology that turned heads in the Air iPad . But the price can get steep if you want storage space on board. While the most basic Mini starts at $ 399, you will pay $ 829 for the 128GB model cell .
